Part 3 Wash Thoroughly...

Hi everyone,

So I finally finished cutting/trimming all the flash on the resin pieces. So, next step for me was to clean/wash all the parts.

Bath time for the reaver bits!

For those that don't know, you want to wash the parts to get rid of the release agent that might still be on the pieces, otherwise when you go to paint or primer the model, it will just flake off. I had this happen to me with my Brass Scorpion, luckily I had just started painting it and had not primed all the pieces.

These were a pain to clean, mainly because they were so damn small...

First, I poured some Mr Clean Floor cleaner into the water, dunno how much exactly;about as much as I felt necessary. :)

After that, I let it sit for about 1/2 an hour. Then took a tooth brush and scrubbed the pieces thoroughly. Then rinsed them in warm water, before scrubbing them again with soap, and rinsing them one last time.

Finally, I layed out all the pieces to let them dry.

So, after a night of drying, I had to start patching up all the air bubbles on the pieces, I did this two ways, using green stuff for the bigger holes and super glue for the smaller ones.

This piece was probably the worst as you can see:

After the green stuff finally sets, I'll sand down all of it to make it nice and smooth, once that is done, I can finally start to glue/prime it. :D

Part 2 Cleaning and Trimming (Pic Heavy)

So I have begun cleaning and trimming all the parts. Damn there is a lot to do. I've spent probably 20 + hours working on this now. I'm about 80% of the way done.

First thing I did was make sure that I got all the parts for the reaver, went through each checklist sheet. Sadly I did find that I was missing a piece, it isn't anything major, just a cable/tentacle arm that is supposed to be coming out of the Princep's chest.

I already emailed Forgeworld about this and they are sending me a replacement piece, probably take around 10 days, which is totally fine, since I still have a lot of work to do before I can even start to worry about that part.

There really is a lot of excess resin to cut, I've managed to mutilate my thumb multiple times so far. :x

Once I've finished cleaning/trimming all the parts, I'm going to wash them all thoroughly to remove any mould release fluids from the model, otherwise the paint will just rub off. I learned this the hard way when I tried to paint my Brass Scorpion.

Anyway, here are some pics:

That is a lot of parts!

The angriest knee you will ever know and fear...

I too would be screaming with a giant whole in my chest... :|

Eye of Horus I would imagine. :)

They all is chilling in the head...

:D

Wow... I had lob that off... twice... :|

Part 1 Order Recieved

I just received this massive model from Forgeworld.

Anyway, here are pics of it in all its wonders bags of bits!

What I ordered:

1x Chaos Reaver Titan Body

1x Melta Cannon arm

1x Laser Blaster arm

1x Power fist arm

1x Apocalypse Missile Launcher Carapace Weapon

1x Warhound Plasma Cannon arm (Which I will convert to a carapace weapon)

1x Warhound Vulcan Mega Bolter arm (Which I will convert to a carapace weapon)

I do plan on making all the weapons inter-changeable. It will take a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it.

I love that my Titan is number 469. I'm assuming that this is the number of total Reaver Titans casted to date, including both Loyalist and Chaos models.

Chaos Reaver Project

Hello everyone,

Here I will be posting my work in progress on my Forgeworld Chaos Reaver Titan.

Here is a link to the model on the forgeworld website.

Some back story:

Titans are colossal engines of war, bestriding the battlefields like... wrathful gods.

Within the Traitor Titan legions, most individual machines have seen millennia of service with the renegade forces and long since become utterly corrupted by the touch of the Warp.

Chaos Titans are now as much daemon as they are machine. Their once living crews are fused with their engines, mutated into a single being dedicated to destruction and butchery on a scale incomprehensible to a mind bound by the constraints of human mortality.
